Travel to Dubai:
Dubai Visa Requirements
Visa Requirements - The main entry requirement for a Dubai visa is that your passport is valid for at least a few months before your arrival there. On organising our trip, we were advised by our travel agent to have at least 6 months validity on the passports. This was enough to spur us on to renewing them, as we had plenty of time before the beginning of the holiday! Visa requirements will depend on which country you’re a citizen of:
British Citizens
Residents of the UK can obtain a 60 day visa for free on arrival in Dubai. If your stay exceeds 60 days, this visa can be extended by a further 30 days for a small fee.
Other Nationalities
The citizens of the countries listed below are given the same free visa as British citizens, on arrival to Dubai: United States (US), Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Cyprus, Finland, Malta, Spain, Monaco, Vatican City, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, and Liechtenstein.
Citizens of countries outside the countries mentioned above will generally require the sponsorship of a UAE resident or the hotel at which the person will be staying at. There are extra conditions attached to these which need to be researched thoroughly!
Overstaying - There is a penalty charge imposed on visitors who overstay. If the overstay extends to a significant amount of time, then the courts will get involved and penalties imposed accordingly.
Be sure to double check concerns and requirements with your holiday representative.
